Arrival in Negombo
Upon your arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Blue Lanka, who will also be your guide for the Ramayana Tour. Your first stop will be the charming coastal town of Negombo, where you will spend your first night. If time allows, you can explore Negombo, including its vibrant fish market and the picturesque Dutch Canal.

Journey to Kandy via Pinnawala
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and embark on a 90-minute drive to Chilaw to visit the sacred Munneswaram Temple, where Lord Rama sought solace and blessings from God Shiva. Next, proceed to the Mannavari Temple, the first lingam established and worshipped by Lord Rama. En route to Kandy, visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to witness these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.

Explore Nuwara Eliya
Today, you will be transferred to Nuwara Eliya for a one-night stay. Along the way, visit the Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple in Ramboda, constructed by the Chinmaya Mission, and known for its special Pooja ceremonies. In the evening, visit the Gayathri Peedam, a site believed to be blessed by Lord Shiva for King Ravana’s son.

Nuwara Eliya Exploration
Check out from your hotel and visit the Seetha Amman Temple, situated by a stream where Sita Devi is said to have bathed. Then, proceed to Divurumpola, where Sita Devi underwent a trial to prove her purity. Afterward, check in to your hotel in Bandarawela and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Journey to Kataragama via Ella
After breakfast, head to Ella to visit the awe-inspiring Ravana Falls and the legendary Ravana Cave, where King Ravana is believed to have resided. These caves showcase the architectural brilliance of King Ravana and served as secret passages through the hills. Continue your journey to Kataragama for an overnight stay.

Discover Colombo’s Ramayana Sites
In the morning, visit the Kataragama shrine dedicated to God Skanda, followed by a visit to Ussangoda, a site believed to be one of King Ravana’s torched areas and an ancient airport. Proceed to Galle to visit Rumassala, where parts of the Himalayan herbs brought by Lord Hanuman are said to have fallen. Visit Seenigama Temple in Hikkaduwa, associated with the legendary battle between the Monkey King and King Ravana’s forces. Conclude the day with a visit to Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple in Colombo, which features a unique Anjaneyar chariot.

Can I visit Ramayana Sites such as Kovils/Temples at Pooja time?
Yes, it is possible. We have to check pooja times in each kovil/temple to accommodate this.
Can I visit Yala National Park during this tour?
Yes, we can incorporate Yala into this itinerary but you have to wake up early in the morning to do the early morning safari in Yala National Park.
Can I get a Tamil-speaking chauffeur guide?
Normally we do provide only English-speaking chauffeur guides. But we can consider this request and will do the needful.
