Your first day is a direct transfer from your arrival at the airport to Sigiriya. A highlight of Sri Lanka and would allow you to cover at least two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You will explore UNESCO site no.1 as you head to Sigiriya, in Dambulla. You will explore the Dambulla Cave Temples. This cave monastery, with its five sanctuaries, has been a revered pilgrimage site for 22 centuries and is Sri Lanka’s biggest and best-preserved cave-temple complex. The Buddhist mural paintings (covering an area of 2,100 m2), as well as the 157 sculptures, are particularly significant.
